Carl F. "Rick" Trulson

Carl F. “Rick” Trulson, 70, of Brockton, passed away peacefully on February 18, 2026, surrounded by his family. Born in Arlington, he was the son of the late Henry W. and Martha B. (Ross) Trulson.

Rick was the devoted husband of Gayle S. (Lawrence) Trulson for almost 46 years; loving father of April R. Trulson of Brockton, Carlene P. Trulson of Brockton, and Jenna L. Trulson and her partner Michael Francis of Abington; cherished “Pappy” of Brennen and Rilynne; brother of the late Carol Norton and brother-in-law of Don Norton of Weymouth; and an uncle of Donald, Joe, and Scot Norton. Rick also leaves his beloved dog and companion “Priscilla”.

He was the kind of man that showed up not just for his family but his community. He was respected by many of his customers when he worked At Pepsi. As a dedicated football coach, he mentored and inspired countless young athletes, teaching them not only the game, but the value of teamwork, discipline, and heart. Beyond the field, he loved camping under the stars, spending quality time with those he loved, and sitting behind his drum set, bringing energy and rhythm into every room. He was also a recovery coach and devoted member and friend of “Bill”. His passing has left an unimaginable void in the lives of everyone who knew him.

All are welcome to calling hours on Wed., February 25th from 4-8 p.m. at Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St., Brockton, his funeral from Waitt Funeral Home on Thurs., February 26th at 9:30 a.m. and funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. at Christ the King Parish, 54 Lyman St., Brockton. Private cremation and committal. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Massachusetts General Hospital.
