Joshua J. Rooslet, 48, of Brockton, passed away peacefully on February 25, 2026 at Boston Medical Center after his worldly journey was complete. Born on November 5, 1977 in Yakima, Washington to Ida (Castillo) Dittus of Chehalis, Washington and David F. Rooslet Jr. of Brockton, he was raised in Brockton and graduated from Brockton High School in 1995. He was known affectionately as Squash among family. After attending U. Mass. Amherst for 2 years Josh came back to Brockton and was a nursing aide at St. Joseph Manor in Brockton. A skilled carpenter and craftsman, Josh became a general contractor operating Rooslet Construction in Newton for several years. For the past 20 years Josh was superintendent of buildings and grounds at Our Lady of Sorrows Convent in Brockton.
Josh first met his wife Jennifer (Howland) Rooslet at St. Joseph Manor. They were together 30 years and married for the past 23 years. He enjoyed sports, both playing and coaching football and baseball. With his father he was involved with Brockton Midget football for many years. Josh loved the great outdoors and especially camping and fishing. Josh had a passion for cooking and sharing his time, talents and treasures with everyone. His great faith in God and Bible-believing Christianity was a gift he freely shared with anyone and everyone. For over 20 years Josh led Bible studies and as technology evolved so did his Wednesday and Sunday sessions, first in person and more recently virtually. Josh was a faithful servant of God; as a natural leader he became a role model for family and friends. A humble man however he shared the word of God to the best of his ability as it was all for the glory of God.
In addition to his beloved wife and parents, Josh leaves two brothers, David Rooslet of Washington and Gerald Rooslet of Brockton, his father’s wife D’Anne of Brockton, and many uncles, aunts, cousins and lifelong friends.
All are welcome to calling hours Saturday March 14th from 8 to 10 a.m. and a 10 a.m. funeral service all at Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St. Brockton and burial at Our Lady of Sorrows Convent Cemetery then a celebration of life at the Convent dining room all at 261 Thatcher St. Brockton.
