Theresa A. (Trdoslavich) Sweeney, 82, of Taunton, passed away on February 9, 2026. A native of East Boston, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Margaret (Nocilla) Trdoslavich. Theresa lived in East Milton, then resided in Brockton from 1967-1995, before moving to the Pilgrim Village Condos in Taunton, where she remained until her passing.
In her earlier years, Theresa worked at Boston Superior Court, then worked as a nurse’s aide at Woodridge House in Brockton and later retired from Morse Shoe in the purchasing department. After retirement, Theresa and her husband “Skip” enjoyed traveling extensively throughout Europe and trips to Bermuda over the years. They also spent winters in Englewood, Florida. She was an excellent cook and seamstress and loved organizing backyard carnivals to support the Joslin Diabetes Center.
Theresa was the wife of the late Philip J. "Skip" Sweeney, Jr.; beloved mother of Dawn M. Putvinskas and her husband Scot of Brockton, Christopher J. Sweeney of Bridgewater, and David F. Sweeney of Taunton; cherished grandmother of Amy, Brooke, Olivia, Colton, and Chloe; great-grandmother of Harper and one more on the way; and the sister of the late Frances J. Dipietro and her late husband Louis.
All are welcome to memorial calling hours on Thursday, February 19th from 4-6 p.m. with a 6 p.m. memorial service at Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St., Brockton, and her procession gathering on Friday, February 20th at 1 p.m. leaving Waitt Funeral Home for a 2:30 p.m. committal at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
